About Standing on Peace “SOP”

A word of hope, joy, Truth, and purpose for my Sister’s in Christ.

Seeking health for your mind, body, spirit, and as a mother?  Have you ever felt alone? Perhaps even lost and broken?  Desire to live a life of peace?

If so, then I am thrilled for you to join the SOP (Standing on Peace) community!

SOP is a blog for the woman who desires to grow in her love for Jesus and others.  It is a place where I share my goods, bads, and ugly’s, in order for God to be glorified in my life.  In order for you to know you are loved by God and you are not alone in your struggles.  You are created by God and you are beautiful, unique, and have a specific purpose.  The blog is focused on pursuing and experiencing peace in our lives. (Psalm 34:14, Eph. 6:15) I believe peace can only take root in each of our lives when we are first and foremost connected to the One who offers true peace, Jesus Christ.  In order to live in His peace, we need to allow God to bring wholeness in our mind, body, spirit, relationships and as a mother.

My prayer for you is this:  “May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through.  May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it.”  1 Thes 5:23-24.

At SOP, we remind you that you are not alone.  We are all connected in our pain, struggle and experiences.  We were not meant to do life in isolation.  We were meant to do life side by side each other.  We invite you to join our “real women” community!

I write about:

  • Peace for the Mind-healthy thinking and communication in our relationships
  • Peace for the Body-my running journey and our ability to be happy with who God made us to be
  • Peace for the Spirit-our relationship with God and others
  • Peace for the Mother-finding God’s grace, humor, and wisdom in the day to day
  • SOP Devotionals-The disciplines of being in God’s Word daily and talking to God daily.  SOP Devotionals give accountability in these disciplines as we grow towards peace and wholeness in mind, body, spirit and as a mother.

I promise you will find authenticity in my writings.

A Personal Note from Jillian:

There have been two times in my life when I knew I had to write down what the Lord was speaking to me.  Two times when I felt my world was rocked. I began to journal, and I was changed.  The first was when my husband and I went through infertility of over four years.  This was the first time in my life that things had not gone according to my plan.  I felt an intense pain, anger, jealousy, and hurt like I had never experienced before.  The question, “why Lord?”, plagued me.  I began to pray with a new emotional transparency as I struggled during this storm.  However, in spite of the questions and hurt, I can honestly say that I grew to know and trust Jesus more than ever.  The Lord revealed Himself to me.  He brought me comfort during this trial.  He gave me purpose and hope in my pain.

The second time in my life that I was rocked by God and inspired to “journal the journey” was when I trained for my first race.  As I ran with the Lord during my training runs, He downloaded spiritual analogies to me that challenged my walk with Him.  Out of these writings, I felt the “Jesus nudge” to write a devotional book.  Wow, way out my comfort zone, not in my five year plan!  I am currently in the process of writing a woman’s running devotional book and continuing to rely on the Lord for His direction in this.  It is for His glory and the hope of changed lives that could be “spurred to action”, that I share my heart with you.  I do not claim to have all His answers, I only claim to have experienced God’s love, grace, joy, hope and comfort through the bad and the good.  It is through my trials, temptations, and failures that I have grown to see my need for a Savior.  We all need a Savior and He is always there to give us exactly what we need, exactly when we need it.  My prayer for you and I is that we would encounter Jesus in a new and real way.  That His love would inspire us to live differently.  To live with His peace.  To live in authenticity.  To live a life of loving God and loving others

  1. Your mom passed on your website to me at BSF. It is lovely, and I look forward to exploring it further. Could I get your mom’s e-mail to also to contact her?
